1. Who this notice covers, and who to contact

2. Which laws apply

As the operator is based in the Province of Québec, this site's handling of personal information is governed by two overlapping regimes: the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA, S.C. 2000, c. 5), and Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (RSQ, c. P-39.1), as substantially amended by Law 25 (formerly Bill 64). Where the two differ, the more protective standard is applied.

3. What this site does not collect

JoltMyth has no account system, no forms of any kind (subscription, search, or contact), no shopping cart, and runs no analytics of its own. Nothing you do while reading a review, browsing a genre hub, or comparing games in a table sends information back to this site's operator. There is no push-notification system and no third-party advertising on any page.

4. Technical data processed by our hosting and CDN provider

JoltMyth is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as this site's content-delivery network and security layer. Like any web host, Cloudflare's infrastructure necessarily processes standard technical request data — IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referring page, and timestamp — to serve pages and to detect abuse such as automated scraping or denial-of-service traffic. This processing happens at the infrastructure level and is not configured, read, or exported by this site's operator individually.

If Cloudflare's aggregate Web Analytics feature is active on this domain, it separately measures page views and Core Web Vitals performance data (load time, responsiveness) in an aggregated, cookie-free form; it does not set a cookie and does not build an individual browsing profile. Cloudflare processes this technical data as an independent service provider under its own privacy terms, published at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy, and may process it outside Canada, including in the United States, under Cloudflare's own cross-border transfer safeguards (including standard contractual clauses).

5. Cookies and browser storage

JoltMyth itself sets no cookies. The site stores exactly one entry in your browser's local storage, to remember whether you accepted or dismissed the notice banner so it isn't shown again on later visits; this value never leaves your device and is not read by the site's operator. 6. If you email us

Sending an email to mail@joltmyth.com shares whatever personal information you choose to include — typically your name, your email address, and the content of your message — directly with the operator, through your own email provider. This information is used only to read and respond to your message, is not added to any mailing list (none exists), is not sold or shared with any third party, and is kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the exchange and any follow-up.

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Québec's private-sector privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information about you (if any) is held, to access and receive a copy of it, to request correction of inaccurate information, to revoke consent to future processing, and — under Québec law specifically — to request that information be deleted where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for. Because JoltMyth does not maintain accounts or databases of visitor information, most requests will simply confirm that no personal information is held beyond any email correspondence you've initiated yourself; where that correspondence exists, you may request a copy or its deletion at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email mail@joltmyth.com. A response should be expected within a reasonable time given this is a one-person project; Québec law sets a maximum response window of 30 days for formal access requests.

8. Retention

Email correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to address the matter raised and any reasonable follow-up, and is deleted or anonymised afterward unless you request otherwise or the law requires longer retention. Technical request logs processed by Cloudflare are subject to Cloudflare's own retention schedule, published in its privacy policy, and are not separately stored by this site's operator.

9. Security

This site is served entirely over HTTPS, and Cloudflare provides infrastructure-level protections (DDoS mitigation, TLS termination) common to the hosting arrangement described above. As a static, form-free site with no database of visitor information, the practical attack surface for personal data is limited to the voluntary email correspondence described in section 6, which is handled through standard, access-controlled email infrastructure.

10. Children

JoltMyth's content — reviews of Everyone-rated free games — is general-audience and not directed specifically at children. Because the site collects no personal information through any page, there is no age-gated data-collection process to describe; the same privacy practices in this notice apply regardless of a visitor's age.

11. Complaints to a regulator

If you believe your privacy rights have not been respected, you may first contact the operator using the details in section 1. You may also file a complaint directly with either of the following regulators — note that both are sometimes informally referred to as "the OPC," so this notice names them in full to avoid confusion:

Neither of these is the Office de la protection du consommateur (also sometimes shortened to "OPC" in Québec) — that is a separate consumer-rights body, referenced instead in our Usage Terms.

12. Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Updated" date below. Material changes to how personal information is handled will be reflected here before they take effect.
