Bakery & Dessert Sim
Bakery and dessert sims put you behind the counter instead of in front of it: donuts to glaze, cupcakes to top, a shop floor that fills up faster than you'd like. None of the five games in this hub ask for reflexes so much as a sense of order — get the tray out before the next order lands, keep the toppings station stocked, don't let the queue back up past the door.
The five games here split into two camps. Three are pure decorating sandboxes with no fail state — open them, make something sweet, close them again. The other two, both from the same developer, wrap that decorating loop inside an actual shop you have to run, with a queue of customers and stations that can fall behind if you're slow. We've reviewed all five on their own terms rather than grading the sandboxes for missing a shop layer they were never built to have.

What to look for in this hub
If you want something you can open for four minutes between other tasks and close without losing progress, look at the decorating-only games — Bake Cupcakes and the original Donut Games title both let you walk away mid-order. If you'd rather have a level structure with rising difficulty and something to unlock, the two Tap Happy shop games give you that at the cost of a slower opening pace.
Screen size matters more here than in most casual genres: bakery sims put a lot of small ingredient icons on screen at once, and a cramped 5-inch phone will make some of the later, busier levels fiddly no matter which of the five you pick.
| Game | Cooking focus | Session length | Difficulty | Editorial score | Google Play rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Donut Maker | Decorating only | 5–10 min | Very easy | 8.6 / 10 | 5.0 / 5 |
| Baking Bustle | Time-management | 2–4 min per round | Medium, ramps quickly | 6.4 / 10 | 3.3 / 5 |
| Bake Cupcakes | Decorating only | 3–6 min per batch | Very easy | 7.5 / 10 | 4.0 / 5 |
| Sweet Cake Shop | Full shop sim | 5–12 min per shift | Easy, steady climb | 7.1 / 10 | 3.8 / 5 |
| Yummy Donuts | Full shop sim | 6–10 min per shift | Easy, steady climb | 6.8 / 10 | 3.4 / 5 |
We ranked the five by how much of the baking process each one actually simulates versus how much it hands you pre-made. That's a judgment call about depth, not a claim about which is most "authentic" — none of these are trying to be a real bakery.
